Jesika von Rabbit at Audiowild Studios

Audiowild Studios, 54240 Ridgeview Drive, Idyllwild

We're very pleased to announce that the incomparable miss Jesika von Rabbit will be performing at Audiowild Studios on Saturday July 2nd! This event has been postponed twice and is FINALLY happening on Independence Weekend. Any tickets purchased for previous shows will be honored for this date. Many Idyllwild and Coachella Valley locals are already familiar with her amazing stage show, so if you've never seen a performance by this group before you are in for a treat. Most recently, JvR released a cover of Boys Don’t Cry’s one-hit wonder, “I Wanna Be a Cowboy,” with Jesse Hughes (Eagles of Death Metal) and noted producer/guitarist Dave Catching (Rancho de Luna). The original version went to number one in several countries in 1985 and got as far as number 12 on the US Billboard charts. This is gonna be a show to remember, so get your tickets while you still can and don't forget to bring somebunny special with you!

The prolific and versatile Jesika von Rabbit, former frontwoman and main songwriter of Joshua Tree trailblazers Gram Rabbit has released two solo albums along with a number of singles and videos since the group’s hiatus. Her music is a unique mix of electro, new-wave, pop, rock, and funk. Her live shows deliver a spectrum of swirling melodies, a dose of psychedelia, along with plenty of Wonka-esque eye candy.

Von Rabbit has toured with the Eagles of Death Metal, and has performed at the Desert Daze, Camper van Beethoven’s Campout Festival, Joshua Tree Music Festival, Stoned and Dusted festival, Tiki Oasis, as well as San Francisco, Portland, and Palm Springs Pride. She has shared stages with acts as diverse as Wanda Jackson, Cat Power, and The Crystal Method. Dubbed “The Queen of the Hi-Desert,” Jesika is the torchbearer of the ever-vibrant Hi-Desert music scene.

Jesika von Rabbit’s original compositions have been licensed to CSI, Life, The Real World, Sons of Anarchy, Crash, Hit & Miss, Crazy Stupid, Love and War Inc., Grace and Frankie, and a commercial spot for Fruit of the Loom which aired during the 2012 Summer Olympics.

"Jesika Von Rabbit is one of Los Angeles’ great musical one-offs. She’s simultaneously pop and art, accessible and avant-garde. She’s a mass of contradictions in the most glorious way and her influences, which touch on everything from ’80s MTV pop to ’70s tie-dye psychedelia, betray that very thing. In the live environment, she excels. She’s part Berlin chanteuse, with dabs of Nico, and part performance artist. She’s also a force of nature, and a local gem." – Brett Callwood – The L.A. Weekly
